South Carolina Story Spotlight
Samantha immigrated to the U.S. from Matamoros, Mexico at age two. Her family worked low-wage jobs to get by, and by fifteen she was working too — but she still graduated high school in the top 5% of her class, unsure how she would ever afford college.
As a farmworker dependent, Samantha connected with Telamon | TRC and worked with a Workforce Development Specialist who helped fund her training and supplies. Today she is pursuing her dream of becoming a Computer Engineer at Florence-Darlington Technical College.
